JOHN, the 3rd child of Joshua and Ophelia, was born 18 December, 1880 and died 8 October, 1960 at the age of 79. John never married, but farmed and raised stock all his life on the farm where he was born with his parents (until their deaths) and brother L.G. (Tom) and sisters Nonie and Ruth.

Since my father died six weeks before I was born, John was not only my Uncle but also a father figure --as was my Uncle Tom. They instilled a love for farm life, raising and caring for animals, integrity and honesty in me.
