Grace Mae Carson (Wooldridge)
Date: About 1901  Studio: Agnew

This portrait is first in a set of three.

The following info was contributed by Grace's granddaughter, Carolyn Ricardi, who writes:

There isn't anything much to say about Grandma Grace as I never knew her, only of her. From a letter she wrote to her mother, Grandma Sarah Carson, I learned that she doted on Grandpa Frank Wooldridge. In fact, Grace was engaged to another man when she met Frank and that engagement was over in a hurry!

Frank Wooldridge (next photo) had no hair and no teeth when I came along. He had teeth that did not fit and after a long time of being kidded about his taking them out so often, he took them out and threw them in an empty lot. Frank was a hard worker and he was such a story-teller. By that I mean that he embellished and exaggerated to a fair-thee-well!

Their outstanding quality (in my belief) is that they loved each other greatly. After Grace died Frank never married again as he had promised while she was alive that he would not bring a step-mother to his four daughters.
