Oscar Dewayne Tyler began Tyler Pharmacy in 1880. The pharmacy, which is still in business, is 125 years old now.

Hugh Tyler (in the photo) was the first Tyler son to join his father. He was on the Iowa Pharmaceutical Board.

These pictures were submitted by Dale and Judy Tyler Eklund. The Eklunds are highly respected famers in the Creston area. Dale's ancestors came from Sweden to the United States and finally moved out westward to be some of the earliest farmers in Union County, Iowa. The Tylers were active in the settlement of Lenox, Iowa, and laid out the first telephone lines there. They were also active in pharmaceuticals, and as of 2005 their drug store was still in the family after 125 years!
